ISO 14616
Test Materials
ISO 14616 focuses on heat-shrinkable films, including materials such as PVC, PE, POF, OPS, and PET films. These materials are typically used in packaging applications and require evaluation to ensure their shrinkage properties align with performance standards.
Test Process
The film specimen is cut to specific dimensions and placed in a controlled thermal environment, such as an oil bath, heated to a precise temperature range (0-200°C). After being exposed to the set temperature for a fixed duration, the sample is removed, cooled to ambient conditions, and measured. The dimensional changes are used to calculate the thermal shrinkage rate.
Test Result Interpretation
The shrinkage rate is expressed as a percentage, reflecting the material’s ability to contract under heat. Accurate measurements help determine the suitability of the film for specific packaging uses, ensuring quality and consistency.
