GB 10006
Plastics — Film and sheeting — Determination of the coefficients of friction
GB 10006 Test Materials
GB 10006 specifies testing for both static and kinetic coefficients of friction. Materials include plastic films, sheets, paper, woven bags, fabrics, and other surfaces like rubber and composites. These materials are tested to evaluate frictional properties critical for production and application consistency.
GB 10006 Test Process
The test involves placing a sled of a specified weight on the material and pulling it across a flat surface at a constant speed using a coefficient of friction tester. Both the initial resistance (static friction) and the continuous resistance (kinetic friction) are measured. The process ensures accurate and repeatable testing conditions, such as controlling temperature and humidity.
GB 10006 Test Result Interpretation
Results are expressed as coefficients, with static and kinetic friction values analyzed separately. A lower coefficient indicates smoother material surfaces, while higher values suggest greater resistance. These results help manufacturers optimize product performance and ensure compliance with quality standards like GB 10006.
